The SUNDOWNER preserved in Ramsgate harbour, Kent, UK. She was owned by the late Commander Lighttoller (senior surviving officer of the TITANIC) who brought 130 soldiers in her from the beaches of Dunkirk to Dover. 330,000 soldiers were evacuated during WWII by the small boats and British Navy. In the event of future volcanic activity in Dominica the present evacuation plan calls for the use of similar small boats.
